Data and Machine Learning Engineer

Fluves offers innovative monitoring solutions and web applications for water and energy related industries using IoT (Internet of Things) and fiber optic sensing.   Fiber optic sensor technologies enable us to monitor large assets such as pipelines and power cables in a continuous and distributed (area-covering) way in a much more effective manner than conventional point sensors. Because they generate large amounts of data due to their large sensing ranges and high resolution, machine learning techniques can drastically enhance the performance and application possibilities of these sensor technologies.

Fluves is looking for a passionate Data and Machine Learning Engineer who wants to further develop our technologies based on fiber optics technology.  As a member of our team, you'll contribute to exciting engineering work that solves real world problems using innovative data and sensor technology. Our team of data scientists, engineers and IT specialists believe in fostering a collaborative environment of continuous learning.

YOUR ROLE

·      Your primary responsibility will be data analysis of monitoring projects and the development of machine learning algorithms based on data acquired with fiber optics technology. You will collaborate with other experts to create and improve models for our fiber applications such as leak detection, corrosion monitoring of pipelines and the real-time assessment of critical equipment, as well as to develop new applications.

·      You will partner with other specialists and companies evaluating new sensor systems and translate our domain expertise into usefulf eatures and data processing techniques.

·       You will craft reports and presentations to communicate results to team members, clients and partners.

YOUR PROFILE

·        You have an MS or PhD in Engineering, Machine Learning, Physics, Applied Mathematics, Computer Science, Statistics or a related discipline.

·       You have a strong background in signal processing, time series analysis, and machine learning.

·       You know how to apply machine learning algorithms to N-Dimensional data next to tabular data. You can clean, preprocess and train models on GB to TB-sized datasets.

·       You have 3+ years of experience in code development, preferably with the Python data science stack. You know how to properly structure and unit test your code to be used in a production environment.

·       Hands-on experience with mlflow, xarray, dask, scikit-learn,Tensorflow, or pytorch is a plus.

·       Experience with version control (git) and Python package development is recommended.
