With a Distribution Acoustic Sensing (DAS) device, you can continuously measure Cable Protection Systems (CPS) on all offshore wind turbines. Our monitoring service allows to detect the scraping or swinging sound from a destabilised CPS, flagging to the end user when CPS abrasion is happening and to which intensity. This allows you to take the correct mitigating actions in time.

In the offshore wind industry, there is a general concern among wind farm operators that Cable Protection Systems (CPS) deteriorate faster than expected. Recent press releases revealed unstable inter-array cables in wind farms causing the cable with CPS to move over the scour frequently, thereby damaging the CPS and cable. To anticipate on fatal damage and resulting loss of revenue, operators seek methods to efficiently detect CPS activity or movement and give early warnings.
