Workshop / Webinar On Distributed Acoustic Sensing
On the 8th of November from 13.30 till 15.00 (CET) you can follow a workshop-webinar on Distributed Acoustic Sensing. The workshop is organized by the WTCB and KU-LEUVEN.
The possibilities of Distributed Acoustic Sensing are simply impressive. Just think of condition monitoring of structures and systems, leak detection of water pipes or pipelines, monitoring along (rail) roads or perimeters (intruders, cable theft, calamities, ...), stability monitoring of embankments, ... and this over tens to hundreds of kilometers distance.
Program:
13u30 – 13u35: Welcome word (Gust Van Lysebetten, WTCB)
13u35 – 14u00: Introduction to DAS (Sergei Mikhailov, Brussels Photonics, VUB)
14u00 – 14u20: Leak detection and corrosion monitoring (Thijs Lanckriet, Fluves)
14u20 – 14u40: Monitoring of calderas and glaciers (Corentin Caudron, ULB)
14u40 – 15u00: More DAS applications (Ricardo Arias, Aragon Photonics)
You can hear Thijs Lanckriet, our project manager from around 14.00u on Leak detection and corrosion monitoring with fiber optic sensing.
This webinar is organized as part of the COOCK project 'Monitoring of structures and systems with optical fiber'. Participation is free, but registration is required. The presentations will be given in English.
